Commissioner ScHoolboy Q with two NBA rule changes

He better have a Clippers jersey underneath.

If ScHoolboy Q ever takes Adam Silver’s job as NBA Commissioner, it’s going to be a fast paced game and short intense season.

Proposed rule change #1: Eight Second Violation —> Five Second Violation AND mandatory defense at half.

In Commissioner Q’s words, “you got five seconds to get yo ass up the court.”

The fan in me loves this rule but the player in me is a bit conflicted (I need those extra seconds after a hard defensive point 😅). The pace of the game is already a lot faster since I joined the league in 2010 so I’d be curious to see how this rule would affect the game.

Not only that, but Q would want to see mandatory defense starting at half. No full court press either. Just hard lock down D right at midline. I like this part of the rule better than the first part. Give me eight seconds, but then I’ll take a defender at half 1 on 1 any day.

Overall I’d grade this rule change a B+.

Commissioner Q wants to see more lock up D.

Proposed rule change #2: 30 game season.

Now this would be interesting. I doubt the suits would like this rule change because it would mean way less $$$. Then again, the NFL does okay with only 17 games.

I can see the shorter season making each game more competitive and meaningful. Less load management games for the stars and maybe less injuries.

Overall I’d grade this rule change a B.

p.s. What’s one rule change you’d make as commissioner?

Kobe’s last game: Jay-Z, Kanye West, 60 points

I loved hearing Q talk about being at Kobe’s last game. It spoke to how humble he was and still is. At that game:

  • He met Jay-Z for the first time (and Hova asked him for a picture)

  • He met Kanye for the first time AFTER sending him THat Part earlier that day. Not only that, but Yeezy told him he was going to do a verse for the song after the game

  • Witnessed his favorite player of all time score 60 and erase a 10 point lead with three minutes to play

Sounds like a Hell Of A Night.

Poster Of The Week

This poster by Isaiah Joe was disgusting and absolutely in contention for dunk of the year.
