THE BOSTON CELTICS ARE NBA CHAMPIONS! | FULL REACTION

Yes you did, Jason.

It was a pleasure to chat and react to the finals with former Celtics’ center and NBA champ, Kendrick Perkins, and former Mavs’ guard and loser of a finals (still pretty good 😉), Devin Harris.

We covered a bunch of good stuff in our conversation, from the Celtics’ championship season and what it means for their future, to the Mavericks' strategy moving forward, to the potential impact of Klay Thompson joining a new team.

You should watch the full episode but here are a few highlights:

Perk Predicts Multiple Celtics Runs. With Jrue locked in for four years, Porzingis locked in for two, and plans to resign Tatum and White (Boston better give this man anything he wants + unlimited lobster rolls to keep him) the Celtics are built for a few more championship runs. Shoutout to Coach Mazzula for doing it his way (despite many, including Perk, not believing in his style).

What’s Next For Klay Thompson? Klay's making waves with his social media antics, but Devin thinks it's just his way of building leverage and getting a bigger bag from the Warriors. Channing's all about Klay bringing his style and championship experience to the young Orlando Magic, and Perk is on board with the idea that he needs a fresh start. One thing is certain: If Klay leaves the Warriors, they are officially irrelevant until further notice.

Where Do the Mavs Go From Here? They clearly had a great playoff run but aren’t even the best team in the West. With new owner Patrick Dumont's deep pockets, they need to spend some money to build depth around Luka and Kyrie. Perk emphasized the importance of player development and suggested bringing in coach Phil Handy to help. Dereck Lively needs to develop both a post and outside game to open up the floor. Plus, the rest of the Mavs need to get more athletic if they want to hang with teams like the Celtics.
